Donald Earl Bryant is a native of Dolomite, Alabama, born to the late Deacon James and Mamie King Bryant, Sr. He was educated at Dolomite Elementary and Westfield High Schools in Jefferson County, Alabama.  He received an athletic scholarship to attend Tuskegee University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management with a concentration in Organization and Management.  In addition, he holds a Master of Divinity Degree from the Interdenominational Theological Center (Morehouse School of Religion), Atlanta, Georgia and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio.

 

Pastor Bryant has served as associate minister at New Bethlehem Church, Dolomite, Alabama, where he was licensed and ordained under the pastorate of Daniel Dixon; and Assistant to the Minister at Friendship Community Church of College Park, Georgia, under the leadership of Doctor Charles J. Sargent.  He has served as staff chaplain at Grady Memorial, Southeast and Georgia Regional Hospitals.  He served as Resident Chaplain at Grady Memorial Hospital under the authority of the Georgia Association of Pastoral Care, Dr. Eugene Robinson, Director.

 

In September 1991, Donald Earl Bryant began to serve as pastor of Friendship Community Church of College Park, Georgia.  At Friendship, more than 88 ministries touch the lives of thousands of people throughout the city, state and country.  Under his leadership, the church purchased over 66 acres of land,and has constructed more than 68,000 square feet of ministry space to include a 3500-seat sanctuary, a  two-story educational building, a Family Life Center, and a Children’s and Youth Theatre.

 

Dr. Bryant is the founder and president of Donald Earl Bryant, Ministries, Inc., a 501(c) (3) corporation that focuses on family conflict and community development. DEB Ministries has established 529 College Savings Plans for over 100 children; offers a Summer Camp (YES) for 8 th -12 th  graders; and has established an endowment for church maintenance.  He has been named as one of America’s Outstanding Men; appointed to the Georgia Department of Labor Advisory Council; served as president, Morehouse

School of Religion Student Fellowship; inducted into the Martin Luther King, Jr. Board of Preachers, Morehouse College. His is a recipient of the 2014 Pinnacle Award; 2015 Gospel Choice Award and he received the God’s Trombone Award from the Rainbow Push Coalition. Dr. Bryant served as a board member of both the Interdenominational Theological Center and the Morehouse School of Religion. Dr. Bryant is the author of I Didn’t Want to Do It, a must read for those who have doubts about what God is able to do in your life.

Pastor Bryant is married to the former Brenda Williams.  Pastor and Mrs. Bryant are the parents of Donald, II, and Rachel Michelle.  They are grandparents of Rebekah, Isaiah, and Marcus.
